Architecture is a way of thinking before it's a drawing.
I trained as an architect — a Bachelor of Interior Architecture in Syria, then a Master of Architecture in Moscow — because I wanted to understand how buildings hold together: structure, circulation, detail, and the coordination it takes to get a drawing set built as intended. That training turned out to be useful for a lot more than buildings.
Early roles at Sakura Interiors in Moscow and Robin’s Design in Istanbul were conventional architecture and interior work — concept development, technical drawings, client presentations. Then a move to Romania and a role at AlpAccess, officially hired as an architect, put me in charge of technical operations and QA/QC coordination for industrial coating projects instead — including project controls for a Hinkley Point C pipeline-coating scope covering 20,000+ spools and structural supports.
Running documentation at that scale is, at its core, the same problem as architecture: a large number of interdependent parts that have to stay coordinated, correctly recorded and traceable back to a source of truth. That’s what pulled me into building software — an inventory system to track 1,000+ parts, a progress tracker to replace a spreadsheet nobody trusted, and more recently AI-assisted tools that review contracts and flag what a person might miss.
Websites are the same exercise again: grid, hierarchy, structure, and a clear relationship between parts. I don’t treat web design as a separate skill from architecture — it’s the same discipline, applied to a different material.
